When you come in for the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel™, your expert ZO® practitioner will follow the below steps:

Step 1- This is the application of the peel solution itself. A blend of salicylic, trichloracetic, and lactic acids remove the outer layer of the epidermis, while saponins minimise inflammation and glycerin helps hydrate the skin.

Step 2- This is applied after the peel solution, and works to stimulate cellular function at a deep level for collagen enhancement, firming, and wrinkle reduction while providing antioxidant benefits and DNA protection.

Step 3- Application of the Calming Cream Post Procedure Skin Relief. This cream is used as a finishing product to relieve skin irritation and redness. The formulation’s rich hydrators replenish lipids to restore hydration balance.

After the peel, your skin may have a yellow tone but this is completely normal and when you wash your face the next day, this will have disappeared. You may also notice your skin begin to lightly peel the next day but this will only last for a couple of days.

ZO® Controlled Depth Peel™

ZO® Controlled Depth Peel (only at Zosking Aesthetic Surgery Centre, Dubai) is a highly advanced, in-office-only procedure, recommended for use when scarring, severe laxity, severe texture damage and advanced melasmaare of concern.

Sedation may be required.It provides dermal and epidermal stimulation and stabilization for a faster recovery and excellent results. This peel utilizes a concentration of trichloracetic acid (TCA) buffered for different skin types, which allows physicians to precisely tailor treatment for a range of skin conditions.

Resurfacing Damaged Skin With TCA

TCA (trichloracetic acid) is a non-toxic chemical that is used by medical professionals to perform therapeutic skin peels.

When TCA is applied to skin it causes surface skin cells to lift – and then peel off – over a period of several days to one week. When the surface skin peels away, it exposes a new layer of undamaged skin, which has a smoother texture and a more even skin tone.

ZO® Controlled Depth Peel Protocol

Preconditioning Skin
Dr. Obagi recommends strengthening and preparing the skin 4-6 prior to performing the ZO® peel by using the ZO® hydroquinone or Non-Hydroquinone System. Use of the system will enhance results as well as accelerate healing.

Peel Preparation And Application

A blue, pH-balanced peel base guide is applied to the skin which allows a smooth application of TCA. This helps slow down the penetration and reduces skin irritation.

TCA treatments must be applied in an even and continuous application over the entire treatment area with an effective visual guidance system. ZO® custom-designed a pH-balanced peel base that complements the use of TCA. The ZO® Controlled Depth Peel Base, when proportionally prepared with TCA, is a highly effective method to aid in systemic application guidance over the entire treatment area. Enriched with skin lipid supplements, skin redness modulators and antioxidants, this ZO® base minimizes skin redness, replenishes skin barrier function, and minimizes newly exposed skin cells from post-peel damaging oxidative stress.

Blue Tint Removal

ZO® Controlled Depth Peel Cleanser emulsifies and lifts most colorant staining and residue on the skin following application of the ZO® Controlled Depth Peel Base.

During the foaming action, an ultra-mild beta-hydroxy acid exfoliate deposits on skin for secondary removal of any remaining dead surface skin cells. In addition, vitamin B3-niacinamide penetrates the upper layers of the skin to help aid the skin’s natural cellular renewal processes that accelerate replenishment of new skin cells and help maintain healthy skin.

Skin Renewal

Once redness has subsided, new skin shows a dramatic reduction or reversal of prior conditions. Exposed skin is smoother and firmer with a more even skin tone and radiance.
